The music video starts by traveling over the city at night and then focusing on Busta Rhymes’ penthouse apartment. He is sitting by the window of the apartment starring down at the street. I think this is supposed to symbolize the fact that he made it to a rich life. When he discusses how far he has come, the video shows him and a whole bunch of people standing at the base of a hill and then they start to run up the hill. I think this supposed to represent the struggle in life to get where you want to be.
The whole song is about making something out of yourself, about going from being broke and alone and working your way to a better life. Throughout the video he wears various inspirational shirts to help get across his message about making it in life. The shirts say things like Failure Is Not An Option, Defeat Your Enemies With Success, and Only God Can Judge Me.
The video shows people on the streets that start to come together and travel to the hill I where they run up it together with Busta. The video is not just about one person making it but a group making it together. Throughout the video it is dark and raining, but at the end of the video the sky clears above Busta Rhymes’ head. I think this is to help emphasize that they made it out of the dark to the light. Even when life was down on them it turned around.
The very last scene of the video shows Busta Rhymes in his penthouse apartment again. Then the video pans out and travels over the city at night. It closes the way it begins. I think this adds a sense of finality to the video.

Ok so first of all I’m a big Busta fan so this post defiantly grabbed my attention right away. In my opinion you did a good job of capturing the symbolism in the video, my only problem with your response though is that you used “I think…” a lot which is a fine phrase it just got a little over used but not so much that it was distracting from the actual entry. Over all you did a good job of capturing the feel of the video.
